Dr. Kwasi Boaitey

Transformative wellness professional, clinical leader, educator

With over 20 years of experience guiding individuals, families and organizations through the complexities of personal and professional change, Dr. Boiatey inspires any and everyone in his orbit. He is the founder and owner of Upperlevel Fitness Inc, where he integrates movement, narrative, and relational healing modalities to foster resilience, reduce stress, and open pathways to meaningful communication and growth. At the University of Rochester and University of Rochester Medical Center, Dr. Boaitey serves as the Lead for Culturally Responsive Management (CRM), shaping organizational practices, leadership. and psychological safety. He is also the Assistant Director of the Health and Incarceration Pathway at the University’s School of Medicine and Dentistry and a Senior Associate in the Department of Health Humanities and Bioethics. Dr. Boaitey's research spans identity development, trauma, post-traumatic growth, and substance use. His interdisciplinary approach reflects a deep commitment to healing and justice in both clinical and educational spaces. He holds a doctorate from the University of Rochester and a master’s degree from the University at Buffalo. Dr. Boaitey is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation, a Certified Substance Abuse Professional, a Registered Yoga Teacher, a Part B Certified Mediator, and a NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer. Known to many as “the constant gardener,” Kwasi brings presence, patience, and purpose to every interaction. Whether in boardrooms or classrooms, correctional facilities or clinical settings, he nurtures potential in environments often dismissed as barren—teaching others to find growth where others see no light, no water, and no fertile soil.
